Mark your calendars! La Pine’s famous Grand Prix of Racing, also known as the Lawnmower Race, kicks off at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 4th.

Get ready for high-speed excitement and old-fashioned fun at the 25th Annual Grand Prix Lawnmower Race — one of the most popular and crowd-pleasing events at La Pine Frontier Days!

Held on Saturday, July 4th at 2:00 pm (with drivers meeting at 1:30 pm), this thrilling race transforms ordinary lawnmowers into competitive racing machines. Drivers navigate a challenging course in high-energy heats, pushing their modified mowers to the limit in a spectacle of speed, strategy, and pure entertainment.

Whether you’re a spectator cheering from the sidelines or a brave competitor, the lawnmower races capture the wild, adventurous spirit of Frontier Days. Expect roaring engines, close finishes, plenty of laughs, and that classic small-town 4th of July atmosphere that makes this event a true highlight of Central Oregon’s Independence Day celebrations.

$25 entry fee • Open to racers of all ages and skill levels (kids’ heats included!) Pre-registration required — don’t miss your chance to be part of the action!
